Day 1
Arrival in Negombo
- Upon arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by a representative who will also serve as your guide for the Ramayana Tour.
- Your journey begins in the delightful coastal town of Negombo, where you will spend your first night.
- If time allows, feel free to explore Negombo’s vibrant fish market and scenic Dutch Canal.
Day 2
Journey to Kandy via Pinnawala
- After breakfast, check out from your hotel and embark on a 90-minute drive to Chilaw to visit the sacred Munneswaram Temple, where Lord Rama sought comfort and blessings from God Shiva.
- Next, proceed to the Mannavari Temple, the first lingam established and revered by Lord Rama.
- On your way to Kandy, stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to observe these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.
Day 3
Explore Nuwara Eliya
- Today, you will be transferred to Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay.
- Along the way, visit the Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, renowned for its special Pooja ceremonies.
- In the evening, head to the Gayathri Peedam, a site believed to be blessed by Lord Shiva for King Ravana’s son.
Day 4
Nuwara Eliya Exploration
- Check out from your hotel and visit the Seetha Amman Temple, located by a stream where Sita Devi is said to have bathed.
- Then, proceed to Divurumpola, where Sita Devi underwent a trial to prove her purity.
- Afterward, check in to your hotel in Bandarawela and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Day 5
Journey to Kataragama via Ella
- After breakfast, travel to Ella to see the stunning Ravana Falls and the famous Ravana Cave, believed to be King Ravana’s residence.
- These caves showcase the architectural genius of King Ravana and served as secret passages through the hills.
- Continue your journey to Kataragama for an overnight stay.
Day 6
Discover Colombo’s Ramayana Sites
- In the morning, visit the Kataragama shrine dedicated to God Skanda.
- Followed by a trip to Ussangoda, a location thought to be one of King Ravana’s scorched areas and an ancient airport.
- Proceed to Galle to visit Rumassala, where parts of the Himalayan herbs brought by Lord Hanuman are believed to have fallen.
- Stop by the Seenigama Temple in Hikkaduwa, linked to the legendary battle between the Monkey King and King Ravana’s forces.
- End the day with a visit to the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo, which features a distinctive Anjaneyar chariot.
Day 7
Departure
- Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time in the morning to explore Colombo before your driver takes you to the airport for your departure.
